The Univeristy Police Department deploys a number of initiatives to improve the safety, security, and general quality of life of our community members. Among these initiatives are:
Safety AlertsDesigned to get important safety information out to our community members in the quickest manner possible.
Chief's NotesFor those matters that do not rise to to the level of requiring a Safety Alert but are still timely and important the Chief may issue an informational note.
Blue Light PhonesThe University provides, throughout the campus, a large number of emergency phones equipped with blue lights to draw attention that will automatically ring into the University Police dispatch to summon help in an emergency..
Identity Theft PreventionInformation on how to prevent and recover from Identity Theft from the Federal Trade Commission.
Avoiding Online HarassmentA short primer with suggestions on how to respond to the growing problem of harassment via computers.
ProgrammingThe University Police provides a number of programs to the community and beyond each semester on such topics as Women's Self Defense, Legal Issues, Personal & Property Safety, Alcohol and Drug issues, and many more.
Sexual Offender RegistryAs required by law the University provides an accounting of all registered sexual offenders reported to the University as being enrolled, attending or employed at the University. We also provide links to the State-wide sexual offender registry.
Off-Campus AffairsInformation on keeping safe is not limited to our campus grounds. The University Police provides general information on safety as well as information to assist students who may be living off-campus.
