Chief Frank Wiley came to the University at Albany in the Fall 1996 semester. He was formerly the Director of University Police at the University of Maryland, and was previously with the Baltimore City Police Department. Chief Wiley earned his degree at Sojourner Douglass College in Baltimore. Frank Wiley believes that campus law enforcement is instrumental in increasing the safety and quality of life on the University campus.
A relative new-comer to the Capital District, "Frank" is already well known by both staff and students. He has an open door policy, and encourages members of the University at Albany community to come and discuss safety and security issues with him. One of his primary goals as Chief is to develop an increasingly positive relationship between the community and their police.
