Aran C. Mull is an 18 year veteran of the University Police having served previously as a patrol officer, lieutenant and captain. Throughout his career he has been active in department programming, policy and instruction initiatives, as well as event management. As chief firearms instructor he developed and managed the department’s transition from revolvers to Glock semi-automatic duty weapons. As a programming officer he served as the University’s first RAD (women’s self defense) instructor, developed the department’s Orientation Training for new students and is active with the University’s “Men for Relationship Education and Change” program which focuses on teaching men to act to stop relationship violence. As the department’s IT coordinator he managed the development and transition from paper based reporting to computer based reporting and analysis of department activity as well as developed a department web site that allows the public transparent access to department activity. As a special events coordinator he has taken increasing responsibility for special events on campus, managing the police and security functions for the live Hardball event with Senator Clinton, annual NY Giants Summer Camp, Commencements and Fountain Day events, among many others.
