Officer Meyers is a certified general topics instructor, an ASP tactical baton instructor, and a RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) instructor. Officer Meyers was also instrumental in creating and currently instructs the departments Immediate Action Respone to Active Shooter Incidents training course. He is also a two-time winner of the Peer Leadership award which is voted on and determined by his fellow officers. In 2007 Officer Meyers joined the ranks of the department's K9 handlers. Ed and K9 Bainca graduated the Ulster County explosive detection canine academy and are currently a New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services certified explosive detection team.
