Michael Mabee started his law enforcement career working for the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department, joining the New York State University Police Department in 1999 at SUNY Cobleskill. Officer Mabee transferred to SUNY Albany in 2002. In 2000 and 2001 he was named Officer of the Year by Schoharie County Stop DWI. Mabee was the recipient of the Lawrence Gaal Award in 2003 for Professional Service and was also named as the UAlbany Officer of the Year in 2005. Mabee was promoted to Lieutenant in 2009.

Lieutenant Mabee has served as the department’s Field Training Unit’s Coordinator and will now be serving as the Field Training Unit’s Supervisor.
