Deputy Chief of Police Kilcullen has been a member of the State University Police since March 1980. He transferred to the University at Albany campus in June 1982. He received his A.A.S. in Criminal Justice from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy New York and a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Business Management from Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont. In his tenure he has served in a number of specialist titles and was responsible for formation of the departments Crime Prevention and Police Mountain Bike Patrol Units.
Deputy Chief Kilcullen is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session #213 and has attended various Municipal, State and Federal Law Enforcement training courses. He has also served on a number of University Committees including Employee Assistance Programs, President Task Force on Women’s Safety and Initiatives for the Prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse.
In addition, Deputy Chief Kilcullen is a member of the IACP Survivors Club and has been recognized by the University Police Chief’s Association and the University at Albany Division of Student Affairs for his work in the area of community policing.
Off duty, Deputy Chief Kilcullen enjoys travelling, home improvement projects and running / biking.
