On October 20th, 2008 Richard Bailey, a University at Albany senior majoring in criminal justice and sociology, was shot and killed while walking in the City of Albany. As his father had before him Bailey was focused on serving as a police officer in the New York City Police Department.

In memory of his time here at the University, the lives he touched and his commitment to serving as a police officer the University Police recognize Richard J. Bailey as a member in full standing.
