JOB OPPORTUNITIES
The University Police Department is always looking for talented people with a desire to work in a progressive, community oriented police department.
When filling open positions we consider applications to transfer as well as new hires. Persons looking to transfer into our department must currently hold a position in the job title they are looking to transfer into. All other applicants must have taken and passed the Civil Service exam for the position they are interested in and be reachable on the list. In particular we cannot accept a transfer of police officers from non-University Police departments unless they have taken the civil service exam for University Police Officer I and are reachable on that list.

University Police Officer I (Patrol Officer)

Campus Public Safety Officer II (Communications Officer)

The University Police Officer I is the primary sworn title within the department and contains information that pertains to all of the remaining sworn titles. As with all state agencies we must fill open positions according to the laws, rules and regulations of the New York State Department of Civil Service. The Department of Civil Service maintains a listing of jobs and tests available on their website on their Jobs page.
